Travel Safety Tips
There is always a good and a bad side to everything. Travel couldn’t be different. Visiting a different place can bring some Traveling to unfamiliar destinations can bring unexpected misfortunes, most of which can be avoided by you if you pay attention to a few things. Here are some of them:
ONE. About luggage tags, never list your home address on them. If you are going on a business trip, use your company’s address on them. If you are visiting friends, put their address. And if you don’t have a choice, put your email address. This way you avoid someone looking your address at the airport and paying a visit to your unsupervised home while you are having fun on an all-inclusive cruise. And, last, get some covered luggage tags to minimize these issues.
TWO. Until you check your baggage, stay with it at all times. You want to make sure nobody puts something on them, or that someone steals your bags. If you feel the need to put down your bags, one safety tip against thieves is to step on the handle — this way nobody will be able to run off with your backpack, for example.
THREE. If you have to bring along something important, I will be straight here: never check that! All important papers and medicines should be along with you at all times. Leave a copy of your passport, driver’s license plus credit and debit cards at home, in case something happens.
FOUR. By the way, leave at all membership cards and those things you won’t be needing while overseas. Carry only one or two credit cards. Avoid carrying too much stuff is the first step to avoid losing too much stuff at once.
FIVE. If you are traveling with children, make sure to carry a recent photo of them along with you, too. Should anything happen, you will have an easy way of showing their faces to the people around you and/or the police.
SIX. Carry all your important documents inside a travel money belt, safe from pickpockets and curious eyes. If you leave the bulk of your money inside the money belt and set a daily budget, you will find yourself saving money on shopping. And, by the way, never show your money belt in public — it defeats the purpose.
This is it for today. I hope these tips helped you figure out how to make your journey safer.
